You’re the Light for Others to See
…following orders, doing what God commanded when he said, I've set you up as light to all nations. You'll proclaim salvation to the four winds and seven seas!"
Acts 13:47 - MSG
When you come to Jesus, you receive the Light of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ within you. But you are not just someone who receives God’s light—you are someone who carries that light to others. Yes, in a world that often feels dim with discouragement, confusion, and fear, your life becomes a quiet lamp that helps others see hope again. God uses you, yes you, in a dark and weary world to bring light and hope to others.
You don’t have to preach sermons or stand on platforms. Sometimes the light shines through you as you speak a kind word, or a patient response, or display a willingness to love someone who feels forgotten. It’s a calling. This calling is for you, for all of us, to be light to others to see.
The Lord’s desire is for us to shine in a darkened world. That’s His heart for people everywhere, even in your little corner of the world. Remember, Jesus Himself taught us that light is never meant to be hidden. He said that no one lights a lamp only to place it under a basket. Light is meant to shine—meant to be seen—meant to guide. In the same way, the light God has placed within you isn’t meant to stay tucked away in safe corners. It’s meant to overflow into the lives around you, offering hope and direction to those who feel lost in the shadows. The forgotten. The unloved.
Yes, God has placed His light in you to overflow into the places where people are searching for direction, comfort, and truth. You may never know how far your light reaches, but God does—and He delights in using you to draw others toward Him. You are part of His mission. You are part of His story. And today, you are His light for others to see. Go shine for Him. Let others see Him through the Light within you. Be Light…
Prayer
Father, thank You for trusting me with Your light. Help me reflect Your love in ways that draw others toward hope, healing, and salvation. Give me courage when I feel small, confidence when I feel unsure, and compassion when I meet those who need Your grace. Let my life shine in a way that honors You and points people to Jesus.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen…
